After a great 2019 where we made a lot of positive impacts and a fantastic first couple of months in 2020, life gave all of us a lemon that we can hardly turn into vodka. The COVID-19 outbreak is a nightmare for many, including a small business like Handep. We, however, did not give up, we continued to move forward despite all challenges. Although adapting to the pandemic is no easy task, we did all we can to continue supporting our partner weavers and farmers.

In late January, nearly 30 young people from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the Regional Dialogue on Young Indigenous Social Entrepreneurs, a 3-day event co-organized by UNDP’s Youth Co:Lab initiative, UNESCO, and AIPP. They were able to strengthen and upscale their social enterprises, which range from the production and sale of fashion accessories to farming and agricultural innovations.
