We are extremely honored to have our founder and CEO as an honoree of Forbes Indonesia 30 Under 30 Class 2022 for social impact category.

As an enterprise or business based outside of Jakarta & Java, we are too far from media exposure and our opportunities are often limited. Doing business in an underdeveloped place like Central Kalimantan with limited infrastructure and networking opportunities is really challenging. But once again, our team at Handep has proven that nothing is impossible, especially in today’s digital age. We can break down so many walls and opened up doors of opportunities.

We believe the take-home message of this award is to never compare ourselves with others and feel less worthy about it. We should always believe in ourselves and have a positive attitude especially when we know we are creating a positive impact and moving against the grain. Social entrepreneurship has slowly gone mainstream, there will be more of us across the country and globe. Let’s celebrate social entrepreneurship and amplify our movements.

This award is for our team, for hundreds of our artisans in the village, and for our customers and supporters, who believe in HANDEP’s values.

We hope this award also inspires other young Indonesians, especially in the villages where nothing is impossible. To make this world a better place and that we can be successful without the “Jakarta dream”.
