Founder & CEO

Randi is a sustainability expert and social entrepreneur with extensive experience in project management, rural economic development, supply chain management, stakeholder engagement, marketing, and communication. As someone who was born and raised in the village, his key expertise is localizing sustainability concepts and working with village communities.

Aini Abdul
Co-founder & Chief Community Officer

Growing up in an indigenous community as a Dayak has instilled in Aini a deep sense of urgency and dedication to working closely with communities, especially those in Central Kalimantan. She firmly believes that when approached with care, sensitivity, respect, and active community involvement, community empowerment becomes a powerful catalyst for creating positive and enduring impact.

Cecilia Evita
Sustainability & Sourcing Specialist

Evita who is better known as Evi, is a specialist for environmental issues, as well as sustainable and ethical business practices for SMEs.

She is currently focused on developing sustainability systems and streamlined standard operating procedures.

Sara Hutabarat
People Development Specialist

Sara is a people development expert with extensive experience supporting founders/owners and senior executives.

While delving deeper into sustainability and social enterprises, she is managing interdepartmental relations and and people development in HANDEP.

Mening Rinden
Community Relations Coordinator

Mening is a teacher at the local primary school in Gunung Purei, the home district of 5 villages where HANDEP works. Mening has been an advocate for his community to access education and rights to their ancestral lands and forests.

Since early 2019, Mening has been at the front-line of supporting their village economy by joining HANDEP.

Angela Mayrina
Design & Business Development Specialist

Angela is an interdisciplinary designer and storyteller with a special interest in anthropology, history, and crafts.

Her practice explores how design could communicate and elicit questions through a constant interplay between boundaries that redefines common assumptions.

Binar
Rattan Master Artisan

Binar, our youngest artisan from Baok Village, is an integral part of the creative process at HANDEP. Having just completed high school with a specialization in wood and rattan, she now works closely with our design development team, focusing on the technical aspects of working with rattan.

By bridging the gap between traditional methods and modern design, her contributions not only enhance the quality of our products but also play a crucial role in preserving the cultural heritage of rattan craftsmanship for future generations.

Riza Widhya
Design & Creative Specialist

Riza is a Designer-Maker who has always been interested in celebrations of craft and how tradition impacts society. She was trained as an Industrial Product Designer and decided to continue to hone her skills in the craft industry.

Riza spots and troubleshoots issues that HANDEP faces as a small business and is also heavily involved in product development for HANDEP.

Anisa Fitri Utami
Community & Operational Officer

Bridging communication between villages and HANDEP’s head office, Anisa works closely with the artisans and their beneficiaries, managing community relations, production, as well as office operations.

 A dab hand at handling data, she is in charge of numbers; assisting the team to keep track of what is happening in partner villages, to help measure and report HANDEP’s annual impact.

Amelia Noviyanti
Community & Operational Assistant

As a frontline member at HANDEP, Amelia works closely with our artisans in partner villages. Skilled in communication, she is responsible for maintaining the relationship between the artisans and our head office.

She ensures that the artisans' needs are met and that their voices are heard within the organization. She plays a key role in facilitating the smooth exchange of ideas and resources between the villages and the head office.

Monika Oktaiana
Organizational Management & Cultural Preservation

Monika is a community development and cultural preservations practitioner. She co-founded the Dayak Youth Community (DYC) in Jakarta years ago that aims to unite Dayak Tribes in Kalimantan and Serawak through community programs, art and cultural events. Today, she is also involved in various organizations that focus on community initiatives especially women empowerment.

Rani Djandam
Community Development & Stakeholders Engagement

Rani Djandam is an indigenous Dayak Anthropologist. She designs a comprehensive concept, strategy and executes "on site" practice, to address and manage various issues surrounding social conflict management, compliance (anti bribery & corruption management in private sector), external communication, sustainable development and stakeholders relationship management.
